MASTERCLASS 2025 – Prof. Violeta Smailović Huart (violin), Prof. Konstantin Bogino (piano, chamber music)

Dear colleagues, respected parents, young musicians, dear friends,

We warmly invite you to join us once again—now for the 30th time—in the idyllic setting of Rogaška Slatina.

As part of a well-designed program of additional musical education, we are offering open spots in the Masterclass for young musical talents and the Summer School for students of all levels from music schools (beginners are also welcome).

In a peaceful and beautiful natural environment, with excellent living and working conditions and no other obligations, participants will be able to fully dedicate themselves to music.
Through individual lessons and group sessions in chamber ensembles or orchestras, they will gain valuable musical experience essential for developing talent and an excellent motivation for further work.

To make the program even richer this year, the Summer School will include a series of top-level concerts and lectures, while in their free time, children will enjoy a vibrant animation program and a group excursion, which will bring teachers, participants, and parents even closer together.

You are kindly invited. We look forward to spending time together with you.

Prof. VIOLETA SMAILOVIĆ HUART
VIOLINIST

“A charismatic artist with a charming personality, a sound of a thousand colors, perfect technique, and boundless energy. Violeta is a happy symbiosis of innate musicality and excellent musical education.”
(Bosiljka Perić-Kempf, Novi list, Croatia)

During her studies, she was personally noticed by Yehudi Menuhin, which launched her rapidly ascending international career, with performances throughout Europe, the USA, and Asia (venues such as Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Rachmaninoff Hall in Moscow, Salle Gaveau in Paris, St. John’s Cathedral in New York, Morton Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas, etc.). She was also invited by the Moroccan royal palace to perform and teach the country’s most talented young violinists.

She is currently a professor of violin at the prestigious “Schola Cantorum” music academy in Paris, where her dedication to the education of young violinists attracts many gifted students from around the world.
She is a frequent jury member at international competitions and for many years has promoted her concept “Music On The String” through masterclasses, festivals, and concerts.

Born into a family of renowned musicians (15 members of her family are professionally engaged in music), she performed over 250 concerts as a child with the family ensemble “Musica Ad Hominem” as both a member and soloist. She made her live TV debut at age five and performed as a soloist with the Sarajevo Philharmonic at age eleven. At eighteen, she graduated from the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad.
Her postgraduate studies took her to the Conservatory of Music and Dance in Paris (Cycle de Perfectionnement), the International Music Academy in Portogruaro (Diploma di Concertista), and Meadows School of the Arts at SMU in Dallas (Artist Certificate and master’s degree).

She was awarded “Best Young Musician of Yugoslavia” and received prizes from the Sir Yehudi Menuhin Foundation (Paris) and the Sasakawa Peace Foundation (Japan). Together with pianist Sergio De Simone, she won the INCE special prize at the international competition “Trio di Trieste.”

Over the years, she has developed remarkable artistic maturity by combining her intense personality with the knowledge passed on by top mentors of the Russian, French, and American violin schools (Ilya Grubert, Pavel Vernikov, Emanuel Borok, Evgenia Chugaeva, Tamara Smirnova).

On stage, as a soloist or ensemble member, she has collaborated with great artists such as Riccardo Muti, Sergiu Comissiona, Itzhak Perlman, Itzak Stern, Konstantin Bogino, Sergio De Simone, Benedict Kloeckner, Manfred Stilz, Vasily Shcherbakov, among many others.
She is an excellent interpreter of contemporary music.

Violeta Smailović-Huart plays a violin by the Italian master Enrico Rocca.
She speaks English, Italian, French, Russian, Slovenian, and Bosnian fluently.

Prof. KONSTANTIN BOGINO
PIANIST

Konstantin Bogino belongs to the fourth generation of a distinguished Moscow musical family that maintained close friendships with figures such as S. Richter, E. Gilels, A. Rubinstein, and A. B. Michelangeli—all of whom undoubtedly influenced the young pianist’s development.

His first teacher was his father, Georgy Bogino, a pianist and pedagogue, inventor of a special piano playing method, and author of numerous musical texts.

From 1957 to 1966, he was a student of the Moscow Central Music School, known for nurturing the best musical talents in the former USSR. At age eleven, he performed with an orchestra for the first time and gave his debut recital, dedicated entirely to J. S. Bach. He later graduated with the highest honors from the Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory, studying under Vera Gornostayeva.

Between 1973 and 1978, he taught at the Gnessin Conservatory in Moscow. Simultaneously, he gave over 300 concerts as a soloist, in duo with renowned violinist Marina Kozolupova, and as part of the famed Tchaikovsky Trio. In 1979, he won the International Competition in Munich and received the Grand Prize in Florence. Since 1980, he has devoted a large part of his career to teaching and has held masterclasses at leading conservatories in Italy, Germany, Finland, the USA, Japan, and South Korea.

He has also served for many years as a professor at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade and at academies in Novi Sad and Titograd. He is currently a professor at international academies in Chioggia, Helsinki, and Rome, where he also works as an artistic director. He has founded numerous chamber music festivals, including in Portogruaro, Mestre, Chioggia, and Dubrovnik. He is frequently invited as a jury member at prestigious international competitions, including Gui in Florence, ARD in Munich, the International Competition in Trieste, Trani, among others.
He records for labels such as Dynamic, RCA, Ondine, ADDA, Conifer, Musica Imagine, P.G.P., and more.
