Vlado Repše

academic musician violinist, professor of music, director

Vlado Repše studied violin at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana in the class of prof. Leon Pfeifer and prof. Dejan Bravničar. Exposed to the representatives of two different violin schools and two different ways of achieving the same goals, already during his early development period, Vlado Repše was in the position to think about and to search for answers to numerous questions that were raised at the crossing of the two schools. Since he was a student, Vlado participated in seminars of highly successful and respected violin pedagogues. With many of them, and for years now, he has built a special form of successful cooperation (prof. E. Chugaeva, prof. P. Vernikov, prof. Z. Gillels).

With regular employment in the RTV Ljubljana Symphony Orchestra and later in the Slovene Philharmonic Orchestra, Vlado has gained experiences from working with notable conductors. He has skilfully combined those experiences with the acquired pedagogical knowledge. For many years now, he has passed them onto his pupils in a very systematic order.

Results achieved by Vlado’s former and current pupils are very important, whether they are the rankings at domestic and international competitions, successful continuation of musical education at the university level or for a critical expert's ear. In a demanding but, consequently, no less friendly working atmosphere, he carefully dedicates himself to every pupil and safely guides them through the path of designed technical and musical elements and builds their performance strength.
